How we're paid

Today

The Mortgage Beast is an independent education site. Every calculator, guide, and table on this site is free to use. We do not currently earn commissions, referral fees, or other compensation from lenders, brokerages, or comparison services.

Calculators run in your browser. We do not sell your inputs, and we do not change the math based on anyone who might pay us later.

If we recommend a partner

We may later recommend a licensed mortgage broker or a rate-comparison service as a next step after you have a result — for example, when you want a real pre-approval or a rate hold. If we do, this page will list each partner, their licence, and what (if anything) we are paid when you continue to them.

Those links will be marked as sponsored. You will never pay The Mortgage Beast to use a partner. We are not a licensed mortgage brokerage, and we do not arrange, negotiate, or fund mortgages.

What does not change

• Payments, GDS/TDS, CMHC, land transfer tax, and IRD estimates use the published formulas on our methodology page — not partner defaults.
• We will not put partner ads in calculator inputs or as popups.
• Educational pages (methodology, glossary, this page) will not carry partner CTAs.
